Muslims are understandably agitated and emotional at present. One avenue of venting their emotions is hurling insults at perceived sources of our problems. As such, some take to calling Saudis in general, and their Crown Prince in particular, “dogs”.

Islām teaches us justice. No soul bears the burden of another. We are accountable for the use of our tongues and hands. I categorically condemn this vile slander and distance myself from such behaviour. I shall state my case below.

1.    A century of treachery

It is not the canine creation of Allāh which has striven might and main against the interests of Islām and the Muslims. Dogs did not ally with the British Empire to spill Muslim blood. Nor was there a King Rover who spat on the final command of Muḥammad (ﷺ) and allowed Christian and Jewish troops to pollute the soil of Arabia for the first time in 14 centuries.

It was no dog who paid to overthrow the martyr, Morsi (Allāh’s mercy be upon him), and besiege Ghazzah’s southern border (a fact which pro-Palestine activists conveniently never mention when condemning the siege of the other three borders).

Dogs have no share in this treachery. To compare Saudis to dogs is an unjustified slander and should be recanted.

2.    Love & Loyalty

As Muslims we do not keep dogs unnecessarily as pets. Yet, despite our limited interaction, we are not oblivious to the salient traits of love and loyalty that dogs are known to show their masters. The Saudis spend on and promote not only monuments to their ancestors but now invite tourists to places which Allāh and His Messenger (ﷺ) cursed and forbade us to dally in, e.g. Madāʾin Ṣāliḥ. Conversely, they have shown no restraint in demolishing anything attached to the blessed memory of Muḥammad (ﷺ). It is not just that that they have turned Makkah and ʾal-Madīnah into Los Angeles and New York, but they have infected the body of Islām with this loveless and soulless corpse of an ideology which they have spread through their propaganda centres throughout the world.

Saudis might perhaps bear love and loyalty for their tribe, ancestors and their American masters, but do their best to oppose the real Master and His Messenger (ﷺ).

Dogs are loving and loyal to their master. To compare Saudis to dogs is an unjustified slander and should be recanted.

3.    Service to Humanity

يَسْأَلُونَكَ مَاذَا أُحِلَّ لَهُمْ ۖ قُلْ أُحِلَّ لَكُمُ الطَّيِّبَاتُ ۙ وَمَا عَلَّمْتُم مِّنَ الْجَوَارِحِ مُكَلِّبِينَ تُعَلِّمُونَهُنَّ مِمَّا عَلَّمَكُمُ اللهۖ فَكُلُوا مِمَّا أَمْسَكْنَ عَلَيْكُمْ وَاذْكُرُوا اسْمَ الله عَلَيْهِ ۖ وَاتَّقُوا الله ۚ إِنَّ الله سَرِيعُ الْحِسَابِ

They ask thee (O Muhammad) what is made lawful for them. Say: ( all ) good things are made lawful for you. And those beasts and birds of prey which ye have trained as hounds are trained, ye teach them that which Allah taught you; so eat of that which they catch for you and mention Allah’s name upon it, and observe your duty to Allah. Lo! Allah is swift to take account. [ʾal-Māʾidah: 4]

The above verse makes it clear that dogs can be of service of humanity despite its being impure. Further the Qurʾān uses a form of the word dog (kalb) for the trained useful animal – mukallab. One who has an atom of understanding of the Qurʾān and its language cannot deny this linguistic acknowledgement that there is inherent good in dogs. They can be trained, they can be obedient and can be useful to the master.

Despite the propaganda efforts of their dogs, sorry, I mean agents, the Saudi genocide in Yemen should be a wake-up call to the least intelligent Muslim. If not, I cannot be bothered to argue with a dumb rock.

These agents on the Saudi payroll include a journalist with a one-celled brain from radioislam.org.za and his iTV “scholar” colleague; and a Mufti orator officially not from South Africa. These mindless and/or soulless agents desperately tout the fictitious or at best amplified virtues of the “Custodians of the Ḥaramayn”. I am not interested in a line for line debate with these agents. I ask Allāh to make my article Presenting the Quran & rational thought to Saudi apologists a sufficient starting point to realise the deception of these collaborators.  

The Qurʾān testifies to the utility of dogs. If nobody else, ask Yemen what utility the Saudis have for Muslims. To compare Saudis to dogs is an unjustified slander and should be recanted.

4.    Self-Restraint

The jurists explain that within the ambit of catch/restrain mentioned in the above quoted verse is that a dog should be so self-restrained and obedient to its master that before it qualifies as a trained dog, it must catch prey and not consume the flesh. Imagine a beast can learn that the flesh in its maw may not be consumed but belongs to the master. Furthermore one such achievement does not suffice. It remains a trainee dog until it can do this thrice.

Now compare dogs and Saudis. Consider just two facts – ABC reported in 2004 how Saudi princes paid prostitutes of both sexes in the French  Riviera up to $50,000 per session; and consider that in 1969, i.e. just two years after the loss of al-Aqṣā, Fahd gambled 5.6m USD away in a single night. Adjust that to current values and ask with what face do the apologists ask us to be grateful to this house?

Dogs do not spend the wealth of the Muslims on gambling and prostitution. To compare Saudis to dogs is an unjustified slander and should be recanted.

5.    Allāh forgives the kind

عَنْ أَبِى هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ الله -صلى الله عليه وسلم- « بَيْنَمَا كَلْبٌ يُطِيفُ بِرَكِيَّةٍ قَدْ كَادَ يَقْتُلُهُ الْعَطَشُ إِذْ رَأَتْهُ بَغِىٌّ مِنْ بَغَايَا بَنِى إِسْرَائِيلَ فَنَزَعَتْ مُوقَهَا فَاسْتَقَتْ لَهُ بِهِ فَسَقَتْهُ إِيَّاهُ فَغُفِرَ لَهَا بِهِ ».

رواه الإمام مسلم في باب فضل ساقي البهائم

A dog was circling a well. It was close to dying of thirst. A prostitute from amongst the prostitutes of the Children of Israel saw it. She took off her shoe and used it to get [the dog] water and she gave it to drink. Thus she was forgiven because of that. [Muslim].   

Allāh’s Messenger (ﷺ) has clearly taught us that kindness to dogs is a virtue which can earn Allāh’s pleasure and forgiveness of our sins. Supporting the Saudi war against Allāh and His Messenger (ﷺ) is a horrendous sin amplified by the spreading effects of their filthy cancer in the body of the Muslims and Islām. To compare Saudis to dogs is an unjustified slander and should be recanted.
